Welcome

In the beginning...

...in the world of Morningthaw, in the land of Dereth, in the desert town of Al-Arqas sprang forth a desert blossom of unparalleled beauty, wisdom, and honor:  The Jade Tigress, or Fastallia as she was known by those who loved her.  In a world dominated by monsters and a feudal system of servitude she arose to right the wrongs of the land.  She established a family instead of a monarchy, thus she was their mother and not their queen.  They were  family and lived to serve each other and all of Dereth.

(Fastallia used to  blush whenever she read the kind words above.  The designer of our original site is responsible for them - she would never "blow her own horn" in such a manner - vanity was not one of her shortcomings.  They are included here for two reasons - they describe the beginnings of our family well and as tribute to that designer.)

And now...

The Family of Valor is a group set up within the gaming world of World of Warcraft™. Our core values are based upon the charter found here.  They could be summed up, however, as, "In all things, be honorable."   It is through this code of chivalry that we have become known - it is the heart and soul of our family.

We are an RP, or "Role-Playing" based group, and work to maintain our characters individual personalities; keeping the "real world" out of game as much as possible, in public chat channels..  Above all else we are friends....family....and a shining light in the chaos of the world.

The group is lead by our Patriarch Scowtyng.  He takes up the reins from Fastallia.  Fastallia does stop in from time to time, to offer advice and help where she can.  This new family is grown from the roots of the old.

For those that do not know who Fastallia was, and for those who remember her fondly, we offer this:

Fastallia was born from the desert sands of Al-Arqas. She took  her alluring personality, thirst for adventure, and love of her friends, and transformed it (with the help of those loyal to her) into a group like no other in Asheron's Call™

It is our deepest hope and loftiest goal to achieve the type of friendship and feelings of family among this new group, that were found in the old.

Speaking with Scowtyng

Scowtyng enjoys talking to the family and its friends, but here are some things you should know about conversing with him.

As you can imagine, Scowtyng often gets a HUGE number of whispers, dealing with almost every in-game subject.  He makes an honest effort to respond to every whisper, but it is important to realize there are times and situations where a response may be delayed.

  1. He is in combat / traveling through a dangerous area.
  2. There may be a great number of whispers at the time, and he's unable to keep up. (He speaks with the many.)
  3. He may be away from the keyboard (AFK) at the time
  4. He could be in a high-lag and/or spam situation, and be missing whispers. (read - in Ironforge)
  5. He may be being booted.
  6. He may be on a quest, helping with a corpse recovery or holding a meeting, and be unable to respond quickly.
  7. He may be dealing with an emergency already.
  8. His creator may be getting "help" with the typing, from the cats.
  9. Other reasons not listed here.

Also, there are times - when one or more of the above are going on - that he may lose track of the conversation(s).

In all of these cases - please do not take offense - he is NOT ignoring you.  Please wait a few moments, then send the whisper again.  Please do NOT spam the message.  Unless the situation is DIRE, please wait approximately one (1) minute between attempts.

This information is NOT meant to limit your attempts to talk with Scowtyng.  It is meant to allow you to understand that you are each important to him, even if he is unable to converse at the time.

Scowtyng tries to remember to set the AFK message when he has to leave without logging out.  If you send a party, channel or guild message and get no response, send a whisper to him directly.  If he is AFK you will usually get a message with a bit of information regarding when he expects to return, etc.  Also, whether he has remembered to set the message or not, the guild panel will often show not only his, but any family member's status.

Be you all safe, well and may the Tigress ever guard your steps!
